WATCH: New music from Ed Sheeran added to Hits Radio's playlist

Following his fantastic performance at The BRIT Awards 2018, here at Hits Radio we're adding Ed Sheeran's amazing song 'Supermarket Flowers' to our playlist this week.

The song is featured on his third studio album '÷' and although it wasn't officially released as a single it charted at number 8 last year when Ed released his album. Now, since his performance at The BRIT Awards he has released it, so we'll be playing it on Hits Radio.

Last year Ed explained the touching story behind 'Supermarket Flowers' telling MTV, "'Supermarket Flowers' is about my grandmother. She was in a hospital near my house where I was making the album so I saw her quite a lot while making the album and she passed away while I was in the studio."

He went on to say, "So that's my first reaction for anything that happens to me, good or bad, pick up a guitar."

Away from music, yesterday it emerged that Ed had submitted a planning application for a chapel on his property in Suffolk. Although not confirmed, many think this chapel could be the wedding venue for newly engaged Ed, who announced his engagement to long-term girlfriend Cherry Seaborn in January.

The planning application proposes a chapel made of flint in a Saxon style, with a round tower, with the application stating it is, "strictly non-denominational and for spiritual regeneration of both traditional and less traditional types".
