Oxford University exam cancelled after protest

The University say they expect no further disruption to exams

Oxford University have confirmed an exam was cancelled on Thursday following a protest.

Protestors were reported to have entered the exam schools at around 9am on Thursday.

A room was occupied, before those taking part left in the early hours of Friday.

The University said a Chemistry exam being sat by second year students was cancelled following the protest.

It is unclear if the protests are connected to those against the conflict in Gaza

A spokesperson for Oxford University said it was "pleased our students are able to continue with their exams without disruption."

"The protesters left the room they were occupying in the early hours.

"The University looks forward to continuing to meet students and staff through our normal channels."

Thames Valley Police said they were "aware of a protest at Oxford University which started at around 9am on Thursday.

"Officers attended the university following reports of protestors gaining access to the exam schools.

"We continue to work closely with the university as this develops.

"No arrests were made."
