Hit and run in Wantage leaves 13 year old boy injured

A 13 year old boy has been injured in a hit and run in Wantage.

Thames Valley Police say it happened last Thursday (6 March) on Harcourt Road in the town.

Between 6.35pm and 6.45pm, when the 13-year-old boy was riding on his pedal cycle when a car collided into the back of him, causing him to fall from his bike to the floor.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.

The boy sustained minor injuries, and did not require hospital treatment.

The vehicle involved in the collision is described as a black vehicle, possibly a BMW or Audi.

Investigating officer PC Naomi Padgett of the Roads Policing Unit, said:

“Thankfully, the boy was not seriously injured in this incident, but I am keen to identify the driver of the vehicle, who did not stop after the collision.

“I would urge this driver to please come forward and contact us on 101, using reference number 43250111741.

“I would also ask anybody who witnessed this collision, or who may have dash-cam footage that has captured the incident to please get in touch.
