Appeal after 'fail to stop' Oxford crash leaves woman in hospital

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Oxford.

At approximately 5.15pm on Saturday December 7th on St Aldates in the city centre, the victim, a woman who was crossing the road, was involved in a collision with a van near to the junction of Pembrooke Street. The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene.

The vehicle is described as a silver/white van.

Police say the woman, who was aged in her sixties, sustained injuries, and required hospital treatment.

Investigating officer, PC Naomi Padgett, from the Roads Policing Unit said: “This collision occurred when there were a number of people around who may have witnessed the incident.

“I would appeal for anybody who saw this to come forward to assist this investigation.

“If you were driving in the area and have dash-cam in your vehicles, I would ask you to check this and contact Thames Valley Police if it has captured anything that could help."
