Man charged in connection with attempted arson at Kettering mosque

A Northampton man is due in court on Tuesday (7 October), accused of trying to start a fire at a mosque in Kettering.

Police say the front door of the building in Headlands was targeted on Sunday (5 October) afternoon.

43-year-old Arif Ali Rafiq, a British-born Asian man, of Harlestone Road, Northampton, faces a charge of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.
