There is going to be a week-long event for people on the Yorkshire Coast to celebrate and inspire women.

It starts tomorrow (Monday 8th March) to mark International Women's Day and it is going to take place virtually rather than face-to-face.

It is the third event of its kind with the previous two being held at the Woodend on The Crescent in Scarborough.

Organiser Margaret Inglesant said:

"The last two years, we held face-to-face events and had 200 women in the first year and 400 in the second year and some men. They were such inspirational days and people spoke about them for months and months Everybody has had such a challenging year that I think it's even more important this year to try and still do something inspiring.

"We've managed to spread it out over the week so that's the big difference rather than doing it all in one day. One of the downsides of doing everything in one day is that people wanted to attend more than one session of different things, so this year we've got at least three events every day and there's something for everybody.

"We've got lots of different events; we've got a yoga class, we've got a singing for wellbeing workshop, we have vision boarding, gratitude journaling which we've never had before, blogging for business on a budget, so we've got lots of different things happening everyday."

Everything is free and you can find the schedule here: https://www.inspiringwomen.space/iwd-2021-live-events.

Margaret added:

"In addition to our fabulous schedule of events, we're also raising funds for EVA Women's Aid through our JustGiving page and you can either donate for our online draw, our end of week social and fun quiz and of course you're just welcome to donate to help us say thanks to EVA for being there for helping support Women and Children, who are or have been victims of Domestic Abuse."
