Yorkshire Coast residents urged to take part in '5K May' for charity
People on the Yorkshire Coast are being encouraged to take part in '5K May' this month to raise money for charity.
People on the Yorkshire Coast are being encouraged to take part in '5K May' this month to raise money for charity.
The challenge, organised by Run for Heroes, is aimed at getting people out and about raising funds for a charity of their choice – while having fun through fitness at the same time.
The idea is simple – participants are asked to run 5K (or walk, swim or cycle), donate £5 and nominate five people to do the same.
This can be done any time in May and people are asked to sign up for free at www.runforheroes.org.uk and everyone taking part will unlock a goodie bag.
Saint Catherine’s is encouraging people to lace up their trainers and take part and help raise vital funds for patient care.
People can also alternatively just donate £5 directly on the Saint Catherine’s website here: https://my.saintcatherines.org.uk/donate.aspx stating ‘5K May’ when asked to enter your reason for donation.
Susan Stephenson, communications and marketing manager at Saint Catherine’s said:
“This is a brilliantly simple way to support patient care at Saint Catherine’s. Lots more people have been getting into running and walking during lockdown, so why not put those extra steps to good use? The £5 donations really do add up and every pound counts!”
