Two men injured in a serious assault in Selby

It happened at The Finkle bar on Finkle Street

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a serious assault that occurred in Selby.

Around 11.30pm on Friday 1 October 2021 at The Finkle bar on Finkle Street, Selby, two men in their 30’s were assaulted by two other men on the first floor of the venue.

The first man suffered significant bruising to his face and attended hospital for his injuries. He has required plastic surgery to his left eye lid and further stitches in his face.

The second man has suffered cracked ribs and significant pain around his face. Both are recovering following hospital treatment.

Appeal for witnesses

North Yorkshire Police are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the identities of two men officers believe may have information about the attack.

One man was white with dark hair, close-shaven on the sides. He was of muscular build and approximately in his late twenties. He was wearing a black T-shirt with distinctive orange and blue squares on the back with a pattern on each square. On the front left of the T-shirt, there was a square image of piano keys and writing on the right.

The second man police would like to speak to is white, clean shaven with brown hair. He appeared to be wearing a khaki coloured zip up jacket with a dark coloured hoodie underneath.
