Two teenagers injured after vehicle crashes into wall outside Harrogate school

Two teenagers have been injured after a vehicle hit a wall outside a school in Harrogate on Thursday morning (February 2).

Police said the two injured boys were walking on Yew Tree Lane near Ashville College when the crash happened.

The parents of both boys have been informed.

Rossett School has confirmed the two 15-year-olds are pupils at there school, and have issued a statement.

A spokesperson said: "Earlier this morning there was a road traffic accident near to the school involving two of our students.

"We are working with the emergency services and supporting the families of those involved. We would like to thank the staff of Ashville College for their quick response and the care that they provided at the scene.

"Rossett School staff will be providing support to our students during the course of the school day if needed."

An investigation is underway and detectives have asked to speak to any witnesses.

One witness told us the air ambulance had been at the scene, and police said North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue are working to make the area safe.

Rhiannon Wilkinson, Head of Ashville College, said: “Two pupils from a nearby school have sadly been injured in an incident outside the College.

“Staff from the College administered first aid to the casualties and dealt with the scene until the emergency services arrived, which included an air ambulance.

“We have written to our parents informing them of the incident, which happened on Yew Tree Lane as the children were making their way to school at around 8.45am. Our thoughts are with the pupils involved and their families.”
