Snowfall causes disruption for North Yorkshire
But the white stuff will be short-lived say forecasters
Roads have been closed and train services disrupted in North Yorkshire due to snowfall this morning (Saturday 23 November).
Forecasters say it's happened because of competing weather fronts - and as Storm Bert pushes in - we can expect heavy rain and strong winds, with temperatures soaring to double figures this afternoon.
We're warned continued disruption is possible due to Storm Bert and a rapid thaw of the snow that's lying on the ground.
The Met Office has a yellow warning for more snow and rain in place until 9am on Sunday.
Meteorologist Craig Snell said: "We expect the worst of the snow to pass by 12pm in Yorkshire but there will be some heavy rain and travelling conditions throughout the day will be pretty poor," he said.
"As milder weather comes in snow will melt, leading to pretty hazardous conditions."
