Serial killer Peter Sutcliffe's funeral has taken place - according to his brother.

The 74 year old who was serving life in prison for the murders of 13 women died earlier this month in hospital, suffering from coronavirus and refusing treatment for that, he also had heart disease and diabetes.

It's reported that a secret funeral ceremony was carried out early on Friday morning (27th November) and that Sutcliffe, known to many as the Yorkshire Ripper, was then cremated.

Mick Sutcliffe's told the Daily Mirror that he wasn't told the details of when and where the ceremony was taking place and the family wished to attend to bring them some closure, "Peter has caused so much pain. He also put our family through hell. So we needed to be at that funeral to get that closure. We wanted to say goodbye."

In a eulogy he had prepared for the service, shared with the newspaper, Mr Sutcliffe wrote: "Peter, all of your family love you as Peter Sutcliffe, although you ruined all our lives when you became the Yorkshire Ripper."
