A homelessness prevention charity in Scarborough has issued an appeal for donations to help a campaign.

Foundation helps young people and those on probation get back on their feet and into accommodation.

It is looking for essentials, like toiletries, to create a 'move in pack'.

Charlene Watkinson is the activities worker at the charity for Scarborough, Ryedale and Selby. She said: "A lot of people are coming from being potentially street homeless or in short term supported accommodation and they're just arriving with less and less. We're looking for toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gels and other toiletry donations.

"We can come and collect donations from local businesses if that's something that they'd like to offer to us. People can knock on the door and donate to us and there's also a website link to our fundraising platform.

"The idea came from the hospital in Selby where they got donated a lot of feminine hygiene products and that really helped their clients, so we kind of changed it over a little bit to suit our needs in Scarborough."

Foundation is a part of the Inspire North Family; located across Yorkshire and the North East.

Its Scarborough offices can be found at Mercury House, 23 Aberdeen Walk, YO11 1BA.

The link to their donation platform for the 'move in pack' can be found on the Foundation website or find out more about Foundation on its website and on its Scarborough section too.
