Scarborough's Coronavirus rate lowest for three months

The borough's seven-day rate is the lowest it's been since October.

Scarborough’s coronavirus infection rate has fallen to its lowest level for more than three months.

The borough’s seven day infection rate, per 100,000 people, has fallen below 100 to 98, down from yesterday - when it was 103.

It is the lowest level seen in the borough since October 19.

The average rate for England is 243, while in North Yorkshire it is now 153.

Since the weekend, three more people have died in the borough within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 186.

Over the weekend, mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey.

William Street Coach Park, in Scarborough, is still offering testing seven days a week, from 8am until 8pm.
