Scarborough Borough Council is urging residents to check if they have up-to-date information in order to vote.

It is ahead of scheduled elections due to take place in May.

The authority will send a household notification letter (HNL) to every household next week so that residents can check whether the voter information for their household is correct.

Instructions will be included on the form for those that need to make a change. If the information is correct, no action is required.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, the council is also encouraging people to consider applying for a postal vote to save having to visit a polling station.

A postal vote application form can be downloaded from gov.uk/government/publications/apply-for-a-postal-vote or people can ring Customer First on 01723 232323 and ask for one to posted to them.
