Scarborough Athletic are now potentially just 90 minutes away from being a National League side.

They are through to the play-off final after beating Matlock Town 2-1 last night, with a record attendance of 2676.

Boro now have the home advantage for Monday's clash with Warrington.

Chairman Trevor Bull said: "Obviously I'm delighted for a whole host of reasons; winning the game was fantastic but I think the big thing for me was the size of the crowd. We beat our record attendance by over 600, which is asbolutely amazing. We weren't far off our capacity last night.

"Although we get on very, very well with South Shields and we consider them as one of our friendliest clubs, we wanted Warrington to win simply for that home advantage in the finals.

"We've played Matlock twice already this season and both have been nil-nil draws so by half-time it was still nil-nil so we played a lot of football and nobody scored a goal, but in the second half we absolutely dominated the game. We were pushing forward at every opportunity."
