Scarborough Athletic's Chairman says the town was united during the match which has secured them promotion.

The Seadogs beat Warrington 2-1 in the play-off final at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

Next season they will play in the National League North.

Trevor Bull said: "I'm beginning to wonder what on earth we've done. It's quite daunting. You spend a whole football season trying to achieve something and when you achieve it it's quite frightening what the future holds. But wow, I'm just so pleased to have got to where we've got to in the short time we've had the club. It's just amazing.

"The club is at one and the town was at one. We did feel that the town was supporting us. We felt a lot of love in the room for us yesterday. It just felt so great.

"Off the field the club's in the best financial state it's ever been in in the whole of the 15 years it's been in existence, so financially we're in a really good place. We're in a great place with regards to the stadium. We've got work to do to operate effectively in the National League system, but it's minimal.

"We're all in it together. It's that unitary that keeps us going and I'm not sure how many other clubs across the country that have reached the level that we've reached, so it's very much a field that we are all in this together.

"With this promotion comes with an ability to apply for more grant funding from the Premier League, as the Premier League have a fund that drips down to clubs at our level and this promotion opens up another £150,000 as a funding we can apply for."
