England are through to the final of the Women's World Cup for the first time thanks to a 3-1 victory over Australia.

The European champions will face Spain on Sunday.

Harrogate's Rachel Daly has been a crucial part of the squad and is helping inspire the next generation of players at her old club Killinghall Nomads Juniors.

8 year old Matilda now plays for them and tell us about the time she met her hero when she came back for a visit: "I got signed a football and a t shirt, it felt amazing and she said hi, it felt amazing I'm always going to remember it. She played for Killinghall which makes me believe I can be the next Rachel Daly"

She inspires me

Rose is also 8 years old: "I like her because she is really inspiring and also she is no.9 and on my t shirt it's no.9 so I feel like I could be a footballer when I grow up."

Mary Beggs Reid is from Killinghall Nomads Juniors Club and says the whole Town is so proud of her: "I think the women's football and what the Lionesses have done is really pioneering for all the young girls and boys in grassroots football it's amazing their achievements."

"She's won the Euro's, she's won the golden boot, and she's now in the World Cup and there is no one from Harrogate who can say that."
