Police launch appeal after a man is found with serious injuries in York

Police are appealing for information after a man suffered serious head injuries in York city centre.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance following an incident which happened on King's Staith between 2.15am and 4am yesterday (Tuesday 7 May).

Enquiries are at an early stage and the circumstances of the incident are not yet known, so officers are urging members of the public to come forward with any information.
