North Yorkshire pubs could face a difficult winter after beer duty cuts
It comes after a 3 pence cut in the price of a pint of draught beer
There's a warning that pubs in York still face a challenging Autumn and Winter - despite a boost from the Budget.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced yesterday, October 27, that the amount of duty paid on alcohol will, in the future, be based on how strong the drink is.
However, there's a call for more clarity on what measures are going to help pubs in York and North Yorkshire.
It's as changes in the Budget could mean a 3 pence cut in the price of a pint of draught beer.

Lisa Brown from the Mended Drum pub in York has welcomed that and a cut in business rates, but says the outlook is uncertain:
“It’s brilliant its not going up but we’re still against massive rises in fuel, heating costs for the buildings.
“The cost of important ingredients has rocketed.
“The uncertainty won’t leave for a long time, I don’t think that confidence is going to come back in the hospitality industry for a long time."
