Harrogate infection rate passes 400 per 100,000
It's the first time the rate has gotten this high since January

The Covid-19 infection rate for Harrogate district has passed 400 per 100,000 people for the first time since January.
The latest information from Public Health England shows the current rate is 406 per 100,000 - making it the third highest rate in North Yorkshire.
Only Hambleton and York have higher infection rates.
The data is accurate up to Friday 9 July 2021 and shows North Yorkshire's infection rate of 343 per 100,000 is above the England average.
England's average is 335 per 100,000.
Despite the rising infection rates, Health Secretary Sajid Javid confirmed to MPs in the House of Commons yesterday (Monday 12 July) that Step 4 of the lockdown easing roadmap will happen on the 19th saying: “If not now, when?”
Mr Javid said the Government’s approach was “about balancing the harms that are caused by Covid with the undeniable harms that restrictions bring”.
