Firefighters tackling blaze at Strensall Common near York

Firefighters have been called out to reports of a fire on Strensall Common near York.

Eight crews are at the scene working to prevent the spread of the fire.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have said:

"We're currently at the scene of a fire at Strensall Common. We are likely to be there for some time and ask that people avoid the area."
