Scarborough's Coronavirus rate drops slightly
The borough's seven-day infection rate is now 233 per 100,000.

More than 100 new cases have been added to Scarborough’s coronavirus figures, in the last 48 hours.
The borough recorded 78 cases on Wednesday and 38 yesterday, new figures have revealed.
The cases brings the borough’s total, since the start of the pandemic, to 4,633.
Scarborough’s seven-day infection rate, per 100,000 people, has once again fallen from 240 yesterday to 233 today, though that remains above rate of infection the borough was seeing in December.
The average infection rate across North Yorkshire stands at 355 cases per 100,000 people, down from more than 400 earlier in the week - as signs the third lockdown is starting to have an impact appear.
The public are warned, however, that adherence to the rules must remain to ease pressure on health services.
Speaking this week, North Yorkshire County Council chief executive Richard Flinton said the impact on the local NHS would not be felt until the coming days.
He added:
“The new variant, which we know is much easier to catch than the original strain, is widespread across North Yorkshire and York and doing its best to drive infection still further here.
“And even though we are seeing the first small reductions in the rates of infections across the county there is a delay of around 10 to 14 days between someone testing positive for Covid and developing the more serious symptoms, which may require hospital treatment. Therefore, a reduction in rates now will not translate into any relief for NHS staff for some time to come.
“Only by acting collectively and consistently and making the right decision every day can we make the difference that will turn the tide on this and see us edge towards a better place.”
