Concern people in North Yorkshire can't afford to neuter their cat
A North Yorkshire animal rescue say they've got more kittens than ever before needing homes.
The Blue Cross in Thirsk say it's because so many people can't afford to get their pet neutered because of the cost of living crisis.
Danielle Sherriffs is the centre manager: "We've seen more than ever this year, more kittens, more pregnant mums that have been handed in to us, accidental litters."
"We want kittens in foster homes, we don't want them in kennels, if you can offer time, space a spare room in your home, fostering is such a wonderful rewarding thing to do for pets and for Blue Cross."
Danielle says there is another reason for the rise too: "Not having the available appointments at vets, because we know how much vets have been stretched so to actually get a vet appointment has been really difficult and challenging for pet owners as well."
