20 treated in hospital after chemical leak at York hotel
The chlorine leak happened at the Novotel on Fishergate on Good Friday
Twenty people have been treated in hospital for the effects of breathing in chlorine after a leak at a hotel in York.
Emergency services were called to the Novotel on Fishergate just before 3.30pm on Good Friday (15 April).
The building was evacuated and 14 other people were watched over as a precaution.
North Yorkshire Police tell us that the source of the incident was quickly identified and isolated and that the all clear was given within a few hours, with the hotel back up-and-running by around 7.45pm.
