For many, they want their proposal to take place in a spot that means a lot to them, somewhere that has significant memories attached to it.

For Norfolk-based John, that was no different, so when planning his proposal he took all those key elements and came up with the perfect location - Tesco in Dereham!

For some, that might be a bit of a surprise, but for John it was perfect, as it was where he'd met Victoria for the first time as an adult.

They'd initially been childhood friends at school in Hunstanton but lost touch when he moved away.

Fast forward a few years, and both John and Victoria happen to be in Tesco when the fire alarm goes off.

They spot each other in the car park during the fire drill - and have been inseparable for the last twelve years since.

The engagement was made possible with the help of some of the staff who work at Tesco, many of whom watched on as Victoria agreed to marry John.

Photos show John down on one knee in the flower aisle in front of a surprised Victoria.

Another shows the happy couple posing with staff and other shoppers.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
