Man arrested on suspicion of attemped murder after pursuit ends in crash near Wisbech
A driver allegedly reversed into a police motorbike during a traffic offence operation

A man in his 20s has been arrested, after a police pursuit ended in a crash near Wisbech, on the A47.
The incident began during a police operation targeting traffic offences, when officers requested a vehicle to stop on the B198 Lynn Road at Walton Highway.
The driver failed to stop and reversed into a police motorbike before a pursuit lasting around 10 minutes followed.
Arrest made
The chase came to an end when the vehicle crashed into a hedge on the A47 at West Walton.
At the scene, police arrested the man on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle and driving with excess drugs.
The suspect was then taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation centre for questioning, where he remains in custody.
Minor injuries
The police motorcyclist sustained minor injuries during the incident but did not require hospital treatment.
The driver of the car was uninjured in the crash.
The A47 near West Walton was temporarily closed, to allow investigations to proceed, but has since reopened.
