Detectives given additional time to question murder suspect in Norwich

Additional time has been granted to police in Norwich to hold a man arrested on suspicion of murder.

An investigation is continuing into the death of a man in his 30s at an accommodation block in the city early yesterday morning (Saturday 22nd November 2025).

A Norfolk Police spokesperson said:

"A man in his 20s was arrested yesterday morning (Saturday 22 November 2025) following the death of a man in his 30s at a property in Somerleyton Street.

"He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and detectives have now been given until this evening (Sunday 23 November) to continue their enquiries.

"A Home Office post mortem examination will take place today to establish how the victim died.

"A police cordon remains in place at the scene while officers investigate the full circumstances surrounding the incident but at this stage it is believed to be an isolated event with no wider risk to the local community.
