Sara Davies describes excitement ahead of Blaydon Races run
The entrepreneur Dragons Den star is raising money for Cash for Kids
Sara Davies has told us she can't wait to run with "half of Newcastle" as she takes part in this year's Blaydon Races.
The entrepreneur and Dragons Den star will be amongst thousands running from the city's Quayside to Gateshead on Sunday.
It's the 42nd edition of the race, with many good causes set to benefit.
Ms Davies said she was excited to run the "iconic" race for Cash for Kids.
"There is nothing like running in the North East when you've got what feels like the Newcastle behind you."
She added "there's a lot of pressure from that, which is great, but you don't want to let anyone down."
Ms Davies admitted she had been driving Dragons Den co-stars Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden "round the bend" with the Blaydon races theme song, but said she was excited to run for Cash for Kids.
"It's a brilliant team that Parkers her business have put together," she said, adding she's excited to "just do something good for our region."
The first runners are expected to set off at 6:15pm.
