A Northumberland landmark is hosting a family friendly pride event this weekend - with people of all ages and communities encouraged to take part.

Curious Arts are running the Pop Up Family Pride event at Seaton Delaval Hall - with a series of creative activites led by LGBTQIA+ artists.

Following a successful Mini Pride event at the house last year which invited families across the area to celebrate, be proud and learn new creative skills; Curious Arts will be returning to build on their successful partnership as this year’s larger scale event will see even more exciting activity.

The event will invite families and people of all ages to celebrate their individuality through a range of creative activities led by LGBTQIA+ artists and inspired by the community’s culture and heritage, including arts & crafts and workshops, inclusive storytimes, an Express Yourself dress-up station, rainbow face-painting and more.

Creative Producer for Curious Arts, Lizzie Klotz said “We can’t wait to be back at Seaton Delaval Hall this July.

"After a wonderful Mini Pride event last year, it's so exciting to be bringing an even bigger event with more fantastic activities.

"Inviting families to celebrate together, take part in fun, creative activities and experience the house and grounds in a new light.

"Hope to see you there!”

Emma Thomas, Seaton Delaval Hall’s General Manager, is also looking forward to the event;

"We welcomed nearly 900 people to Mini Pride last year and the team is excited to welcome Curious Arts back again in 2024.

"Last year we focused activities outdoors and this year we’re encouraging visitors to explore activities both indoors and out, drawing once again on the Delaval spirit of fun and creativity."

Pop-Up Family Pride at Seaton Delaval Hall will run from 11am - 4pm on Saturday 13th July 2024. Activities are free with standard admission to the house which is a National Trust property.
