This festive season, Metrocentre is launching a brand-new, interactive Christmas experience for families all across the UK to come and enjoy. From Saturday 16th November Santa’s Elf Academy is set to open in the Lower Blue Mall In time for the festive season, creating a magical, hands-on adventure that brings the enchantment of Christmas to life for children and families alike.

Tickets for Santa’s Elf Academy at Metrocentre go on general sale from 10:00 am on Tuesday, 24th September with prices starting at £10 per child.

At Santa’s Elf Academy, children will join Santa and his jolly helpers to master the essential skills needed to become honorary elves. Guests will participate in a range of fun and festive activities, including:

• Northern Lights Laser Training: Children will take on the ultimate laser maze challenge as part of their elf training.

• Stealthy Present-Placing Practice: Kids will practice their gifting techniques to ensure presents are delivered with precision!

• Elf & Fitness Class: Young elves will engage in fun, energetic activities designed to get them moving and fit, preparing them for the busy holiday season ahead.

Each session will include a personal visit with Santa, where each child will receive a special gift. The experience promises to be engaging for children aged 18 months to 10 years, although it’s open to families of all ages.

Key Details:

• When is Santa in his grotto?

Santa will be available to meet from Saturday, 16th November, until 2pm on Christmas Eve, after which he’ll start his present delivery rounds.

• How long does the experience last?

Each session lasts approximately 25-30 minutes. It’s recommended to arrive no more than 5 minutes before your booked time slot.

• What age is the experience suitable for?

The event is designed for children between 18 months and 10 years but can be enjoyed by all ages.

• Are there any dedicated inclusive sessions available?

The first half an hour of sessions on Thursday and Sunday mornings are dedicated sessions for those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). These sessions have been created with SEND persons in mind and are much quieter and calmer than our other Santa’s Elf Academy sessions, with a reduced capacity.

Metrocentre’s new grotto experience promises to offer families something truly unique. Beyond the hands-on activities, the Academy will feature plenty of festive photo opportunities and the chance for children to meet Santa himself. Every child who completes the Academy will receive a special memento to commemorate their magical journey.

Helen Atkinson, marketing manager at Metrocentre commented on the upcoming experience: “We’re really excited to introduce our new Santa’s Elf Academy to Metrocentre this Christmas. This immersive experience is designed to bring the joy of Christmas to life in a whole new way. It’s a chance for children to become part of Santa’s story and create memories they’ll treasure. Metrocentre is always a magical place during the countdown to Christmas, and this new experience will not only enhance that but make it an even better destination for families to visit.”

Families eager to secure their place at Santa’s Elf Academy can book tickets on general sale from 10:00 am on Tuesday 24th September, with limited availability for each session.
