This October Half Term, Metrocentre is bringing a fantastic lineup of events and activities for the whole family to enjoy. From the high-energy, futuristic world of HADO-ween to the breathtaking performances of Big Kid Circus, there's something for everyone to enjoy!
Gladiators (Saturday 26th October)
Location: Lower Mall
Stars from the legendary BBC One show Gladiators are heading to Metrocentre for an unmissable day of fun and excitement! Visitors will have the opportunity to meet their favourite Gladiators, snap photos, and take part in the thrilling Duel event - an inflatable balancing challenge allowing participants to go head-to-head with friends and family!
The meet-and-greet sessions and inflatable arena will be available from 10 am to 4 pm on a first-come, first-served basis, completely free of charge.
Big Kid Circus (Sunday 27th October – Sunday 3rd November)
Location: Coach Car Park, NE11 9DJ
The Big Kid Circus is back at Metrocentre with Illuminations 2024, a dazzling spectacle of acrobatics, comedy, and jaw-dropping stunts. With shows running throughout the week, families can experience the magic of the circus under the Big Top. From aerial feats to hilarious clowns, it’s an unforgettable day out for all ages.

• Sunday, 27th October: 4:45 pm & 7:30 pm
• Weekdays: 3 pm & 7 pm
• Saturdays: 1 pm, 4 pm, & 7 pm
• Sundays: 12 pm & 3 pm
Tickets are available at the Big Kid Circus website or can be purchased from the ticket office at the Coach Car Park starting from Friday, 25 October.
Funday Monday – 28th October
A family fun day with the chance to win exclusive, money-can’t-buy prizes! More details will be revealed on Metrocentre’s social media channels, so keep your eyes peeled for exciting announcements.
HADO-ween (Tuesday 29th October – Friday 1st November)
Location: Exhibition Square (opposite Primark)
Experience the magic and mystery of HADO-ween, an exciting techno sport that combines high-energy activity with the fun of video games. Partnering with Newcastle United Foundation, this unique event lets players unleash energy balls and shields in a thrilling Augmented Reality (AR) sport, competing against fellow monsters in Exhibition Scare (Square). No booking is required—just turn up and play!
Running from Tuesday, 29th to Friday, 1st November, 11 am to 5 pm, this event is perfect for kids (and brave adults!) aged 7 and above.
