The annual biggest half marathon in the world is taking place in the North East this weekend.
It is two sleeps to go until the Great North Run, where runners will tackle 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields.
Eilish McColgan, Team GB athlete taking part in the elite race, said: "I'm really excited, obviously last year was my first time on the iconic course so really excited to be coming back again.
"Fingers crossed the weather is a little bit more favourable than we had last year. It was monsoons for 13.1 miles for the elite race.
"I'm really looking forward to coming back."
She said: "It's a cool race to be a part of as there's a real community vibe at the very start of it when you're lining up.
"You're warming up alongside people and people are high-fiving you and shouting good luck.
"It's just a really nice environment to be a part of.
"Particularly that last mile along South Shields as the crowds are just cheering you along."
