Hexham singer says it's exciting to be performing at Glastonbury Festival
Jade Bird tells us she feels honoured to be performing this year
A Hexham singer-songwriter performing at Glastonbury says she hopes her performance will help put the North East region on the map.
It is her second time on the stage at the festival and also tells us she hopes it will help inspire the next generation of singers.
This weekend more than 200,000 people will be attending Glastonbury, which is the largest festival in the UK.
Jade Bird, singer-songwriter, said: "It's British royalty in terms of the festival circuit.
"I feel extremely privileged to be on the line-up and it just feels like a proper community festival.
"I just feel super honoured."
She continued to say: "Especially for young girls like I was, where people weren't necessarily telling you it is possible.
"I think it's really important to have people in the industry who have made it from their own volition."
