Protesters in Newcastle target weapons factory

Protesters in Newcastle have targeted a weapons factory on Scotswood Road this morning.

The group, Palestine Action, haver doused a sign with red paint at Armstrong Works and it looks like some people have climbed onto the roof.

Emergency services are at the scene.

This morning, 18th February 2025, activists from Palestine Action shut down the Rafael weapons factory at Armstrong Works, Scotswood Road, Newcastle.

A specially-adapted vehicle was used to block both entrance to the weapons plant, with an activist locked on inside the secured vehicle. Others climbed on top of the security box and covered the premise in blood-red paint.
