The Hits Radio North East fam, along with thousands of festive Geordies, turned up to the city centre for the biggest moment of the season – the Christmas Lights switch-on with our very own Steve & Karen.
The vibe was unreal as people packed Grey Street, eagerly waiting for that moment. And Steve & Karen? They were in top form, keeping the crowd hyped, cracking their best (and worst) Christmas jokes, and sharing the mic with some amazing live acts that set the perfect holiday mood.
When they finally hit the switch – BOOM! Newcastle transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland! The lights came to life across the city, from the Monument to Grey Street, with the biggest cheers and smiles all around. It was pure Christmas magic, and you could feel the love and excitement in the air.
So, huge thanks to everyone who joined us – whether you were belting out Christmas songs, sipping on hot chocolate, or just soaking up the festive vibes. You made this night one to remember!
