Woman killed by a train at Wigan North Western
It happened at about 3:30pm on Friday
A woman has been killed after being hit by a train at Wigan North Western Station.
Police confirmed she was hit between Wigan North Western and Warrington Bank Quays.
Olympic athlete Jenny Meadows, who's from Abram, tweeted about how she saw what happened.
Trains are expected to be disrupted through rush hour.
In a statement Northern Rail say:
"Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident at Wigan North Western all lines between Liverpool Lime Street and Preston are currently blocked.

British Transport Police say they're working to identify the woman and inform her family. They're not treating the death as suspicious and say a file will be prepared for the coroner.
