Police investigating a fire at a block of flats in Rochdale have arrested a woman on suspicion of arson.

Emergency services were called at around 5:15pm on Monday 1 August, to a fire on Daventry Road.

There were no serious or life-threatening injuries reported.

Investigations into the blaze are continuing, and a 36-year-old woman remains in custody.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "We received a report at around 5:15pm on Monday 1 August 2022 regarding a fire at Daventry Road.

"Emergency services attended the scene to assist with no serious or life threatening injuries reported.

"Investigations are ongoing into what is believed to be arson where a 36-year-old woman remains in custody for questioning."
