Whaley Bridge dam repair to take several years
Thousands of fish will be removed to another site
Last updated 21st Aug 2019
We are back in Whaley Bridge to see the progress being made to repair the dam which caused the evacuation of the village two weeks ago.
Engineers are still working out how much to repair or replace.
They say an investigation will take place now to find out what went wrong.
They will be studying the plans and say it could be quite a big re-build.
In the meantime pumps will remain on site in case there is any more dignificant rain.
The project could take anywhere between one and three years.
The reservoir is being kept at this level
Around 30,000 fish are still in the water and will be carefully moved to another reservoir soon near Birmingham.
