With both the Conservatives and Labour facing leadership battles, one Salford University academic says both parties face uncertain times.

This morning Work and Pensions Secretary Stephen Crabb announced he's standing for the Tory leadership.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn faced more problems this morning as Heywood and Middleton MP Liz McInnes became the latest member of the shadow cabinet to resign.

So far 172 Labour MPs have backed a motion of no confidence in Corbyn but the leader has vowed to carry on.
