Warning of Metrolink disruption over the Easter weekend

Engineering works on Saturday and Sunday will see trams cancelled on the Bury line.

What will be happening over the Easter weekend?

Engineering works are taking place on the Bury and Rochdale Metrolink lines over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

On Saturday 20 April and Sunday 21 April, there will be no services running on the Bury line.

In addition, no services will run between Exchange Square and Monsall on the Rochdale line.

On Monday 22 April, there will be no services between Queens Road and Bury on the Bury line.

How will services be affected?

Good Friday:

Services will run a Saturday service with the majority of last services departing the city centre from approximately midnight.

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21:

Manchester Airport services will terminate at Deansgate-Castlefield.

East Didsbury services will terminate at Exchange Square.

Services on the Altrincham line will operate Altrincham to Piccadilly.

Rochdale/Shaw and Crompton services will terminate at Monsall.

There will be bus replacement services running at the same frequencies as the trams between Central Park to Deansgate/Castlefield and Bury to Piccadilly.

Monday 22:

No services between Bury and Queens Road.

Altrincham line services will operate Altrincham to Piccadilly, and Altrincham to Queens Road.

On Monday, services will run a Saturday service with the majority of last services departing the city centre from approximately midnight. Please check here for last tram times.

Bus replacement services will run from Bury to Piccadilly all day except between 11.30am to 2pm in order to allow for the St. Georges Day Parade.

During this time services will run from Bury to Queens Road where you can then catch a tram to complete your journey.

What events are taking place?

Manchester City face Tottenham for the second time this week at the Etihad at 12.30pm.

This work may affect you if you’re travelling to the St George’s Day parade.

There are also a number of other events taking place across Greater Manchester on 22 April:

Number of local football matches kicking off from 3pm.

Dirty Dancing at the Palace Theatre (7.30pm start time).

Take That at the Manchester Arena (Doors open 6pm).
