As a new film showcasing how United legend Sir Matt Busby changed the face of football is about to be released, his family and friends hope it'll help his legacy live on forever.

Directed by Joe Pearlman, BUSBY combines previously unseen archive footage with interviews with those who knew Busby best including the remaining ‘Busby Babes’ and members of the 1968 European Cup winning team, the ‘Class of ’92’, and others.

Busby was produced by Leo Pearlman and co-produced by Heather Greenwood (Senior Executive) at Fulwell 73, the BAFTA-winning team behind BROS: AFTER THE SCREAMING STOPS, CLASS OF ’92, I AM BOLT and SUNDERLAND TILL I DIE

"Matt's legacy is incredible..."

Former United player - now coach at the club - Michael Carrick was at the World Premiere of Busby in Manchester last night.

He says "I bought into the club fully when I signed, so Matt was a big part of the history of people coming into the changing rooms after every game and saying 'well done' or 'bad luck'.

"That's part of this club. So Matt's legacy is incredible...

"He's just played such a huge part in building this football club".

During Sir Matt Busby's 25 years in charge of United, he led the club to domestic dominance and European glory.

The manager put a big emphasis on youth development, dynamic coaching staff and strong leadership, leading to 13 pieces of silverware.

It's claimed Busby not just made an impact on United, but laid the groundwork for contemporary football as a whole.

At the Premier, United's Assistant Manager Mike Phelan told us Sir Matt Busby’s influence still lives on at the club today.

The team behind the film say:

"He changed the world of sport forever"

"Sir Matt Busby was and is one of the greatest, most influential football managers of all-time. During 25 years in charge of Manchester United his charisma, vision and steel revolutionised the beautiful game, turning Manchester United from the second-best team in their home city into one of the most iconic names in sport. His youthful "Busby Babes" team captivated a generation and, after they were decimated by the Munich air crash, he somehow found the strength to rebuild, nurturing superstars like Bobby Charlton and George Best before leading them to European glory. Matt Busby did not just change football – he changed the world of sport forever.

"From Sir Matt’s humble beginnings in a small Scottish mining village, to twice rebuilding a football club first ravaged by war and then by the tragedy of the Munich Air Disaster, BUSBY is the definitive story of the founding father of modern Manchester United, a sporting pioneer whose legacy can be traced right up to the treble winning Manchester United side of 1999, and beyond.

"Almost a prequel to the acclaimed CLASS OF ’92, BUSBY is a must-watch for any Manchester United fan and anyone who loves the beautiful game which undeniably would not have been the same without the impact made by Sir Matt Busby".

BUSBY is available to own on digital 15 Nov and DVD & Blu-ray 18 Nov.
