It's another historic day for women's football in the UK as the sport gets its first ever dedicated stadium in Manchester.

It's been unveiled this morning (14th September) marking another huge step forward for the women's side.

Manchester City have announced baby gear brand Joie as the official stadium naming partner of the academy stadium, making it the first Barclays women's super league club to secure commercial agreement for it's stadium naming rights.

The whole team marked the occasion with the cutting of a giant Joie branded ribbon in a ceremony.

Manchester City Forward and Lioness Chloe Kelly says it's an exciting time for women's football:

" I'm proud of the players that came before us that lead the way and we need to do the same for those that come after us

"Hopefully this season we can bring many more great moments to this stadium in front of our amazing fans

"I think results like the world cup, getting to the final and the Euro win - I think these are really important moments for the women's game to push the game forward

"It was very different when I was a kid, the kits never fit us. You had to go to a game to actually see the women's game, but now it's on TV and you can watch your idols. Hopefully we can be role models for young girls and young boys out there wanting to watch us."

British baby gear company Joie partnered with the club back in March and have signed a huge sponsorship deal that will also see the men's under 21's play at the ground.

The first women's game at the ground will take place when Manchester City host Chelsea on Sunday 8th October.
