Two people have been arrested after a Spice raid in Manchester this morning.

Officers executed a warrant at an address on Orme Close, Beswick, at 5.30am after receiving a tip off from members of the public.

20 small snap bags of the new psychoactive substance Spice and £500 in cash were recovered by police, alongside a handwritten pricing list for the buying and selling of Spice and scales that are commonly used in drug supply.

A 46-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Spice. They both currently remain in police custody for questioning.

This was part of the Challenger Manchester Team’s ongoing mission to target organised crime.

Detective Inspector Paul Walker, of GMP’s Challenger Manchester Team said: “By executing the warrant this morning, we have prevented a large amount of this detrimental substance from reaching the streets of Greater Manchester.

“We have the community to thank for this excellent result, because we wouldn’t have been able to take this action without you raising your concerns.

“We will continue to work alongside the communities and our partners to target those who make a living out of crime.”
