Teens injured in Rochdale Road crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Blakeley left two people in hospital in serious condition.
Around 9.45pm on Saturday 18 February 2017, a silver Volvo S40 turned onto Rochdale Road at the junction with Hilldale Avenue and collided with a silver Renault Clio that had been travelling on Rochdale Road. The Clio then collided with a grey Ford Mondeo and a silver VW Polo.
The driver of the Renault Clio, aged 17, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries. The passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was taken to hospital where she is being treated for multiple fractures and is in a serious condition.
The drivers of the other cars received minor injuries.
Officers attended the scene and although road closures were in place, the road is now fully reopened.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Police Constable Neil Pennington of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Two people have been left in hospital with serious injuries and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or saw the Renault Clio moments before, to come forward with information.
“I am particularly interested in anyone who may have dashcam footage of either the collision or the vehicles involved to contact police as they may hold vital information.”
