Man hospitalised after serious assault in Tameside
Police believe several people may have been armed with weapons during attack
A man in his 30s is in hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked in Droylsden, Tameside.
The assault happened at around 6pm on Friday, on Greenside Crescent.
According to police, it is believed that several people, possibly armed with weapons, were involved in the attack.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital.
Detective Inspector Paul Cawsey, of Tameside CID, said:
“The investigation is at an early stage as we try to establish the motivation behind this incident that has resulted in a man being treated at the scene and in hospital.
“It is believed the assault was carried by a number of individuals using weapons that have caused serious injury to the victim.
“We have officers in the area as we continue our investigation and to provide a reassuring presence.
“We are asking members of the public with information or who were in the area last night, especially anyone with CCTV, doorbell or phone footage, to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting log 2715-30/01/2026."
Police enquiries are ongoing.
