The leader of Tameside Council Kieran Quinn has died following a heart attack and fall on Saturday which happened while he was out delivering Christmas cards for his Droylsden constituents with his wife Councillor Susan Quinn.
He died on Christmas Day with his wife and two sons at this side, together with his close family.
The council will be setting up a book of condolence.
Tributes are being paid by fellow MP's and friends of Councillor Quinn.
