Stretford pensioner dies following collision in Trafford

A 75 year old man has died after he was hit by a car on Chester Road.

An elderly man from Stretford has died following a collision in Trafford.

Chester Road was closed for around 6 hours last night following the incident close to Tesco last night (Tuesday 17th January).

The 75 year old was involved in a collision with an Audi A2, the driver stayed at the scene and was treated by paramedics at the scene for shock.

No arrests have been made.

Police Sergeant John Harrison-Gough, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We have specially trained officers supporting the family at this incredibly difficult time and our thoughts remain with them.

“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing and I would ask anyone who has any information, CCTV or dash-cam footage to please contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

“I would also urge anyone that thinks they may have seen the elderly man walking in the area before the collision to please get in touch.”
