Stone Roses lemons mysteriously appear across Manchester hinting at big announcement!

Fans are left speculating about what the advertising campaign means

Stone Roses fans across the globe are bursting with excitement after the band’s iconic lemon logo started cropping up all over Manchester today (10th May).

The lemons, which famously adorned the cover to The Stone Roses’ legendary self-titled debut album in 1989, have appeared on digital billboard displays and as posters in record shop windows across the band’s beloved home city.

Fans have been taking to social media in their hundreds to post images of the mysterious advertising campaign.

Unsurprisingly it has also fuelled speculation that new music is on the horizon from the band over two decades on from their last new release.

It’s not the first time The Stone Roses have used the lemons viral tactic to promote a huge announcement.

Last November, just days before they announced their upcoming historic gigs at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium the lemons started appearing all over Manchester.

The Stone Roses’ last album ‘Second Coming’ was released way back in 1994. Since reforming in 2011, the band have made no secret of the fact they want to release new music.

Earlier this year they were photographed outside Adele producer Paul Epworth's north London recording studio The Church Studios where Ian Brown told the NME new music would be arriving “soon.”
