Sinkhole Here to Stay
KEY103 is given special access to the Mancunian Way sinkhole as it's revealed the work on the carriageway will continue into the New Year.
United Utilities and Manchester City Council invited our Chief Reporter Michelle Livesey on site to see the work that's been going on since the crater appeared back in August.
WATCH: Michelle sees first hand the huge hole in the carriageway:
Engineers have found the damage caused to the sewage works underneath the carriageway is too extensive to fix. As a result a separate sewage tunnel, around 130m long, will have to be built alongside the old network, costing four million pounds.
In order to keep the contraflow system open on the Westbound carriageway the work will now spill over into January 2016.
