Manchester will be paying respect to the fallen as the city unites for the Remembrance Sunday service.

A parade of Services and ex-Service organisations will make their way from the Radisson Hotel on Peter Street towards the cenotaph in St Peter's Square, at 10:25AM.

The Scots Guards Association Pipe Band will follow behind the parade, leading a procession of dignitaries including the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Eddy Newman.

Also joining the civic parade will be faith leaders including representatives from the Muslim, Afro-Caribbean Christian Churches, Sikh, Hindu, Jain and Jewish communities, as well as clergy from the Free Church, Church of England and Catholic Church, along with elected members, consuls and magistrates.

Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Eddy Newman, said: "This Sunday - at a service in St Peter's Square - we will remember and honour all those who have lost their lives in active service.

I am extremely proud to be leading the commemoration for Remembrance Sunday - it's important that people come out and show their support on occasions like this which gives us time to reflect on past and present conflicts and show our appreciation for the enormous sacrifices made by all members of the armed forces, while performing their duty."

A two minutes silence, marked by the firing of a 105mm gun, take place at 11am.

A March Past of Service Organisations, observed by the Lord Lieutenant, Lord Mayor, senior representatives from the Army, Reserve Forces, Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and 207 Field Hospital, will take place after the service outside Central Library on St Peter's Square.
